5 Internet Hacks for Students
Hello and welcome back to another blog from VITrendz. Hope you are doing good. Even if not, you are bound to feel better today because, in this blog VITrendz presents you some Internet hacks that all college students must know. Now, without further ado, let’s get started.
5. Search on Google Scholar
Google scholar is a search engine by Google that will give you results in the form of scholarly articles like: articles, theses, books, abstracts and court opinions, from academic publishers, professional societies, online repositories, universities and other web sites. Google Scholar helps you find relevant work across the world of scholarly research. And best of all, you can use data and information from these articles in your assignments (with moderation and responsibly; we do not encourage plagiarism, it’s not nice…). Make sure you mention these articles as references in your work.
4. Use online Calculators
There are a variety of online calculators that will come very handy when you are in a mathematical or scientific pickle. However, we have curated some of the best online calculators you can use:
i) Symbolab :
It is an advanced online calculator for solving virtually any type of math problem. It has buttons and ready-made tabs for plotting graphs, tangents, matrices, multivariable calculus, sets, etc.
ii) GeoGebra:
It is a feature-rich open-source online platform built to bring together algebra, geometry, spreadsheets, statistics, graphing, and calculus into a single easy-to-use package.
iii) Desmos:
It is an advanced online scientific calculator. It features a tabbed user interface with buttons for making calculations in degrees and radians, angles, pie values, percentages, powers, and round numbers.
3. Student Benefits on GitHub
Most students have their own college email account. GitHub offers a lot of goodies in the form of online services for students with a college email. You can claim your benefits that include ‘pro-memberships’ and limited time offers from expensive tools like: Canva, NameCheap, Microsoft Azure, Jetbrains, DigitalOcean, Bootstrap Studio, etc. For more details on claiming the benefits click the link below.

2. VITrendz tools
This isn’t a brag :) This is just an honest suggestion, I swear. Vitrendz has successfully established some very useful tools now. Be sure to check them out…
The Faculty Review system is yet another successful effort by VITrendz to support and help the students of VIT in their process of choosing their faculty for any course.
ii) FFCS Planner:
VITrendz FFCS Planner was designed by the motive of assisting freshers who wouldn't have more/any contact with senior year students to guide them to select the best faculty. The app also provides a “close to actual FFCS” functionality by not permitting them to add clashed courses or courses that have already been added.
iii) GPA/CGPA calculator:
Enter your grade data and calculate your GPA/CGPA in mere seconds.
