Welcome to this week’s blog from Vitrendz. If you are regular here, then “Welcome Back”. If you are visiting for the first time, be sure to read all the blogs in our page. With that being said, we are glad to bring another Tech blog…

In today’s fast world, it’s an unsaid fact that we will definitely feel crippled without the apps and websites that run our daily lives. If you felt the growing dependence of humans on apps over the past few years, then you are not alone.

“Your mobile device has quickly become the easiest portal into your digital self.”

– Phil Nickinson, Editor of Android Central.

Here’s some stats that show the global usage of apps in our everyday lives:

With growing demand for Apps in our world, it is only natural that they become easy to develop and reachable to everyone. Well, this blog tells you exactly how even you can develop your own app with at most ease (at least as of the date of the blog :)).

What is Flutter?

Flutter is Google’s UI toolkit for building beautiful, natively compiled applications for mobile, web, desktop, and embedded devices from a single codebase.

Flutter is an SDK as well as plug in for Android Studio. Therefore, Android Studio shall serve as the IDE for developing flutter Apps.

Yes, Flutter is a cross platform Development kit. That means, with a single piece of code, you can deploy both iOS and Android apps (focusing only on mobile apps or now) simultaneously, all while getting a live preview of the app during development. Sounds too good to be true? Well, you gotta believe…

However, do bear in mind that Flutter is not a language of its own. Flutter is implemented using the programming language called Dart.

Dart

Dart is a programming language created by Google as well. Dart is very similar to basic languages and will be extremely easy to adapt or learn.

Why Flutter?
1. Same UI and Logic in All Platforms
2. Reduced Code Development Time
3. Custom, Animated UI of Any Complexity Available
4. Own Rendering Engine
5. The Potential Ability to Go Beyond Mobile

How are Flutter programs written?

Since the output is an app itself, Flutter programs basically have 2 entities: Logic and Design. The logic part of a dart program in flutter has syntax that is very similar to Java/C++. Whereas, the design part is vey similar to JavaScript when it comes to the keywords and syntax.

Here is a sample Flutter App. Yes, the below given code sample allows you to deploy a working App. This code sample deploys as an app on any device and while opened, statically displays “Hello World”. If you are surprised by the ease involved, then rejoice that you found treasure. If you feel that this ain’t a big deal, then do trust, that developing even such a simple app on Native Java and Kotlin is much Harder.

The scope of the blog comes to an end here. However, you can now start you journey into the Flutter world by patiently sitting through some tutorials. Here is a playlist that teaches you Flutter inside — out.
