The dilemma of passion
Whenever we think and speak about our career one piece of advice that we all hear is “Follow your passion” but no one really said us what is passion? What makes us passionate about something? Here again, VITrendz presents you with a blog to guide you on dilemmas about passion.
Passion, what is it really ?
It is quite hard to define passion but it can be said as a strong feeling of enthusiasm and excitement for doing something. It involves a strong desire to do something ,It involves something that you love to do and you do that effortlessly.
Will being good at something make me passionate about that?
There is a high chance that you are passionate about matters that you are good at ,because being good at something gives you confidence and interest in the matter which will eventually make you love what you are doing. You might end up being passionate about it .
Lets find your passion
1.Mindset matters
Make your mind clear, to find a passion that is within you the first important step should be to believe in you and be open to your thoughts. Most times we have our thoughts that clearly state our passion but our ignorance and lack of self-confidence win over. Don’t block those little nudges, pulls, and signals by your mind when you think of something, just see where it takes you.
2.Find what you like to do
All of us have something we would like to do, we might have some skill or an attraction towards the matter. Doing such things makes you feel complete, makes you feel better, and gives you confidence
We focus our resources on things that we really like and think it is meaningful. Look at the topics of books, magazines, films, social channels you are interested in, your youtube watch history, or podcast that you consume. Are they in a similar genre/subject? Sometimes it might look like they are disconnected that might be because you have diverse passions. It is possible to be passionate on several matters at the same time
3. How to differentiate between hobby and a passion
A hobby is something we do for fun and passion is something we would love to do constantly
This question should be answered with exploration, love, and interest that you have. We might like doing some activities. Those activities might increase our confidence to another level but the next question that we can ask ourselves is” will this activity financially benefit us”? A realistic answer about whether this could turn into our career and “would we like to have it as a career?”. And of course, what will we need to do it?
4. War and peace within you
In the process of seeking passion, it is very common to doubt ourselves. Not only our self-doubt but also our fears and responsibilities around failure, success, visibility, vulnerability, leaving an already existing comfort zone pops out and speaks for itself. If we let the voices win our passion will remain an unattainable wish. To suppress those voices, practice the activity of passion just more and more every day.
5.Find your own version of happiness
Above stated are some common tips to find out what you love. It might differ based on your own personality. But in general be committed to your own version of happiness, things, and activity that gives you happiness and freedom, discover the risk involved, take calculated risks.
6.Revise yourself
Update yourself with skills required to make your passion profitable. Be open and clear-minded to accept the truth if you are behind what you have to be and work for it instead of lying to yourself. It is also okay to have several passions Artist Leonardo da Vinci had varied interests he was an active painter, draughtsman, engineer, scientist, theorist, sculptor, architect, and whatnot.
Conclusion
